VIDEO, PHOTOS: Lewis, Shoffler help LCM to fifth straight win with result over Middle

CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Oliva Lewis and Nora Shoffler mirrored one another on the scoresheet and helped the Lower Cape May Regional High School girls lacrosse team to its fifth straight victory Monday.

Lewis and Shoffler each posted five goals and an assist as the Lady Tigers rolled past rival Middle Township, 20-5, to improve to 9-3 on the season.

Ainsley Reed and Greta Shepanski each added three goals and Brooke Robinson, Jayla Williams, Reilly Satt and Tessa Hueber each tallied one for Lower Cape May. Hueber also collected a game-high 10 draw controls.

Goalkeeper Sophia Vitelli stopped eight of 13 shots on goal for Lower.

The game was tied at 2-2 through one quarter before Lower took control of the game with an 8-1 scoring run in the second quarter. The Lady Tigers then opened the second half with a 7-2 scoring edge in the third quarter.

Abbie Teefy posted two goals and three assists for Middle (1-8). Carmen O’Hara added two goals and four draw controls, Brooke Nabb chipped in a goal and Jax Pickering contributed two assists and a game-high four ground balls.

Both teams are next in action Wednesday, with Lower Cape May going to Ocean City and Middle Township traveling to Our Lady of Mercy Academy.
