Tanner Oliva has checked into a club so exclusive that he’s the only member.
The senior from the Cape May Tech baseball team became the program’s first 100-hit player when he stroked his third double of the game in the fifth inning of Tuesday’s 14-0 win over Bridgeton.
Oliva, who had already become the program’s all-time hits leader earlier this season, finished the game 3 for 4 with three RBI and three runs scored.
Wil Winter, a 2015 graduate, was Tech’s previous career hits leader with 92.

Oliva, who is set to play college baseball at Rutgers-Camden University, upped his season average to .540 after his three-hit day against the Bulldogs. He has 27 hits in 50 at bats, including 10 doubles.
Oliva is also one of the area’s better pitchers. He has posted a 2.52 earned run average with 38 strikeouts in 25 innings pitched. Oliva recorded his 100th career strikeout earlier this season and currently has 125 for his career.
Ron Neenhold also went 3 for 4 and drove in four runs for Cape May Tech in the win over Bridgeton. Ben Lynch tossed a five-inning one-hitter with five strikeouts for the pitching win.
The victory was an important one for Cape May Tech, which is currently tied in the loss column with Oakcrest in the race for the Cape-Atlantic United Conference title.
Tech is 9-8 overall, 7-3 in the CAL United. Oakcrest is 9-3 in conference games and has completed its CAL United schedule. Cape May Tech would tie Oakcrest for the title with wins in its final conference games next week against Atlantic City and Wildwood Catholic.
