VIDEO, PHOTOS: Big first half carries boys, late goal by Ennis lifts girls as Wildwood sweeps DH over Cape Tech

WILDWOOD – A big first half by the boys and a late goal by the girls led to the Wildwood High School soccer teams sweeping a doubleheader over Cape May Tech Monday at Kaitlin M. Anzelone Memorial Field.

Leading 2-0 late in the first half, the Warrior boys fired in four goals over the final 11 minutes of the period to pull away and eventually settled for a 9-3 victory.

R.J. Blanda scored twice and chipped in an assist and Noureddine Bedderi posted two goals to lead Wildwood (8-3-1). Other scorers for the Warriors included Alex Osario, Kelan Miller, Oscar DeJesus, Miguel Ramirez-Crus and Justin Estrada-Diaz. Gavin Burns contributed three assists.

Nico Ricciardi, Connor Bailey and Aiden Wolverton each scored for Cape May Tech (2-12-1).

In the girls game, freshman Julia Ennis scored her second goal of the game late in the second half for the dramatic game winner in Wildwood’s 2-1 victory.

Tech had taken a 1-0 lead at halftime but Ennis scored twice in the second half to lift the Lady Warriors (4-9). Cape Tech fell to 1-12.
