Middle Township School District to induct six into Hall of Fame Friday

The Middle Township School District is set to induct six new members into its Hall of Fame at halftime of Friday’s home game against Bridgeton at the John Roberson Athletic Complex at Memorial Field against Bridgeton. The football game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
Set for induction are Bob Metz, Gloria Hodges, Markal Ginyard, Steve Syemour, Clarence “P.D.” Moore and Damon Troy.
The following are short biographies on each of the inductees, as per a press release from the Middle Township High School Athletic Department:
Bob Metz: A 1959 graduate of Middle Township High School, Metz was a longtime teacher, coach and administrator in the school district. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves, retiring as a colonel.
Gloria Hodges: Hodges, who hails from a family of educators, was a teacher and guidance counselor at Middle Township High School for 43 years, retiring in 2007. She continues to serve the district as a member of the Board of Education for the past 10 years.
Markal Ginyard: A 2005 graduate of Middle Township High School, Ginyard was an outstanding football player and track athlete during his high school career. He went on to play football and earned a degree in accounting at Kean University. Mr. Ginyard passed away following an automobile accident in 2010.
Steve Seymour: A 1988 graduate of Middle Township High School, Seymour is considered one of the top baseball players in school history. He was selected in the 1990 Major League Baseball First-Year Entry Draft in 1990 by the New York Mets.
Clarence “P.D.” Moore: A 2001 graduate of Middle Township High School, Moore was a star football player and track athlete and considered one of the finest leaders in the history of both programs. He played college football at Towson University, where he was inducted into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame. He served as team captain, is tied for ninth place all-time at Towson in career tackles with 274 and posted eight career interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns. Moore went on to earn a doctorate in pharmacy from Howard University, where he currently serves as an assistant professor.
Damon Troy: A 1994 graduate of Middle Township High School, Troy was considered one of the best football players in South Jersey and quarterbacked the 1993 Panther football team to the program’s first-ever state playoff berth. He was also a track and field standout in the hurdles and shot put. Troy earned a Division I football scholarship to Penn State University, where he played for two seasons before transferring to Rowan University and helping the team to back-to-back appearances in the Division III national title game.
