CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Middle Township High School’s boys and girls swimming teams swept competitive meets with Absegami Thursday afternoon by nearly identical scores, the boys winning 91-79 and the girls posting a 91-78 victory.
Middle won the boys meet through its depth as the Panthers took first place in only just three events but posted many second- and third-place finishes in others. Max Campbell (200 freestyle) and Eric Fonseca (100 backstroke) were individual winners for Middle. The Panthers also won the 200 free relay through Kenneth Martin, Jake Frie, Liam Brannon and Brandyn Acevedo.
In the girls meet, Brooke Yarson was a double winner, taking first in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle races. Olivia Orton (50 freestyle) and Julianne Nagle (100 freestyle) were also individual winners. Middle also gained a first-place finish with its 200 freestyle relay team of Orton, Yarson, Ella Harkins and Casey Nagle.
