VIDEO: Six Cape May County teams to compete in CAL quarterfinals this weekend

Six Cape May County high school basketball teams will compete in the quarterfinal round of the Cape-Atlantic League Playoff Tournament this weekend after winning Round of 16 games Wednesday.
The following are recaps of Wednesday’s games:
BOYS
Lower Cape May 70, Millville 44: Sophomore Ty Bonner poured in a career-high 32 points, scoring 19 of them in the second half, to pace No. 6 Lower to an easy victory over the No. 11 Thunderbolts. Macky Bonner added 17 points and Mason Cronin chipped in eight for Lower, which opened the game on a 24-4 run and never looked back. Lower (19-4) will play at No. 3 Mainland in the quarterfinal round Friday.
Middle Township 71, ACIT 39: The top-seeded Panthers (22-2) had little trouble with the No. 17 Redhawks. Anthony Trombetta led all scores with 21 points and Bubba McNeil netted 20 points for Middle. Jamir McNeil scored just four points, but posted nine assists and six steals in the win. Middle will face St. Augustine Saturday in the quarterfinal round.
Ocean City 83, Oakcrest 50: Kori Segich poured in 27 points, including the 1000th of his career, to pace the No. 2 Raiders past the No. 15 Falcons. Dylan Schlatter (18), Pat Grimley (16) and Charlie LaBarre (12) were also each in double figures for Ocean City (20-2), which will host No. 7 Absegami on Friday.
St. Augustine Prep 59, Wildwood Catholic 55: Wildwood Catholic, the No. 9 seed, fell to 9-14 with the loss. No further details about the game were reported.
GIRLS
Wildwood Catholic 66, Cape May Tech 21: Wildwood Catholic, the No, 2 seed in the tournament, jumped out to a 19-4 lead and never looked back. Kaci Mikulski led a balanced scoring attack for the Crusaders with 12 points, with Eliott McCabe and Lily King each adding 11 points. Anna Delaney’s nine points led No. 15 Cape May Tech (8-12). Wildwood Catholic (20-2) hosts Lower Cape May in the quarterfinal round Friday.
Lower Cape May 58, Hammonton 55: Seventh-seeded Lower Cape May opened a lead as high as 18 points in the third quarter and hung on at the finish to beat the No, 10 Blue Devils. Alex Vogt scored a career-high 22 points, Hailey Elwell added 14 points and Brooke Robinson chipped in 10 points for the Lady Tigers (16-5), who will play at Wildwood Catholic in the quarterfinal round Friday.
Middle Township 53, Atlantic City 39: Middle Township led from start to finish after running out to a 21-2 lead after the first quarter. Reagan Powell scored 17 points and Hannah Cappelletti added 11 points for No. 4 Middle (17-6), which will host No. 5 EHT on Saturday.
Our Lady of Mercy Academy 63, Ocean City 37: Madelyn Adamson scored seven points to lead the 14th-seeded Raiders (5-16) in the loss.
