James Wyers of Wildwood High School is the latest Mudhen Brewing Company/CapeAtlanticLive.com Male Athlete of the Week.

A senior split end and linebacker for the Warrior football team, Wyers posted a career-best 11 receptions for 145 yards and also recorded a safety on defense in Wildwood’s 12-8 loss to KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy last week.

The 11 receptions are believed to be a school record for catches in a game.

For the season, Wyers has caught 30 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown as a receiver and has recorded 42 tackles (nine for loss) as a linebacker.
