Mudhen Brewing Company Male Athlete of the Week: Jamar Mack, Middle Township (with video)

Jamar Mack of Middle Township High School is the latest Mudhen Brewing Company/CapeAtlanticLive.com Male Athlete of the Week.

A freshman cross country runner, Mack was the highest area finisher at the Cape-Atlantic League Cross Country Championships this week at Stockton University. He placed 25th out of 113 finishers with a time of 17:44.45.

Mack’s place at the meet wasn’t the best story of the day, however. Mack sacrificed a higher finish for himself when he helped a physically-distressed Egg Harbor Township runner near the end of the race. Mack helped the EHT runner, Cam Koryga, to the finish line over the final 50 yards after Koryga nearly collapsed from exhaustion. Mack even allowed Koyga to finish ahead of him in the race.

Mack was also the winner of the Big Five meet earlier this fall.
