Posted: May 23rd 2024

The Cape Express U14 Blue Crush boys soccer team captured the South Jersey Cup championship with a 6-2 win over Mainland United last weekend.

Angel DeJesus-Gonzalez recorded a hat trick, Charlie Flickinger scored twice and Colin James also added a goal in the victory.

The Blue Crush defeated Berlin and Rancocas Valley in the early rounds of the tournament in the fall, before defeating Audubon in the semifinal round in April.

The Blue Crush defense, anchored by goalkeeper Liam Grimes, conceded just four goals across the campaign.
