The Middle Township High School girls tennis team emerged as champions of the Cape May Tennis Center’s 21st annual girls high school round robin tournament Saturday.
The Lady Panthers won four of the five flights to capture the team championship. In the event, each player or doubles team plays one set against all opponents in the same flight. The winner of the most total games wins the flight.
Lower Cape May, Wildwood Catholic Academy and Jenkintown (Pa.) were the other participants.
Middle’s Brenna Bussinger, Maria Sakoulas and Ella Leahy won the first through third singles flights, respectively. Ava Rusko and Lyndsey McDevitt won the second doubles flight for Middle. Lower Cape May’s Kayla Heinold and Mia Gilbert were the first doubles champions.
