Middle produces four individual champions, places second as team at Buc Classic

The Middle Township High School wrestling team continued to post successful results last weekend.

The Panthers produced four individual champions and finished second in team scoring at the 16-team Buc Classic at Red Bank Regional High School on Saturday.

Middle’s Calvin Parke (106), Tyler King (144), Shawn Watkins (215) and Maurice Matthews (Hwt.) each won their respective weight classes. In addition, Ben Banks (113) and Max Adelizzi (190) each placed second and Dontae Kelly (126), Connor Rowland (150) and R.J. Attenborough (157) each finished third. Noah Nagle (165) added a fourth-place finish.

Middle missed out on first place by just two points. The Panthers amassed 226.5 points while champion Holmdel registered 228.5. 

Middle is next in action Wednesday at county rival Lower Cape May.
