Braswell Thomas is the CapeAtlanticLive.com Athlete of the Week after catching a touchdown pass and scoring on an interception return in Lower Cape May's win over Bridgeton.

Braswell Thomas of the Lower Cape May Regional High School football team is the first CapeAtlanticLive.com Athlete of the Week for the 2023-24 scholastic year.

A junior wide receiver and defensive back, Thomas caught five passes for 102 yards and a touchdown and also returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown to help Lower Cape May to a 44-6 win over Bridgeton in its season opener last Friday.

Thomas is one of the most sought-after recruits in the junior class in New Jersey. He currently holds nine scholarship offers. Defending national champion Georgia, Penn State and Rutgers are among the schools that have offered Thomas scholarships.

Thomas and the Caper Tigers face Clayton this Thursday at home.
