CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Cape May Tech and Middle Township high school flag football teams squared off in the season opener for both teams Tuesday evening at the Shunpike Road Athletic Fields.

Middle Township got on the board first with a touchdown on its opening possession but Cape May Tech responded with three straight scores to post an 18-7 victory.

Tech scored all of its touchdowns on big plays via a pass, an interception return and a fumble return.

Rachel Jones, Makenna Leith and Haley Watson accounted for the touchdowns for Cape May Tech.

Zoe Super scored on a long run for Middle Township, with Alex Trombetta adding an extra-point reception.

Cape May Tech’s next game is Monday at Mainland, while Middle is next in action this Thursday at Cedar Creek.
