Emma Contreras of Wildwood High School is the latest MudHen Brewing Company/CapeAtlanticLive.com Female Athlete of the Week.

A sophomore on the softball team, Contreras recorded the 200th strikeout of her career in last week’s 6-1 win over Glassboro. Contreras gave up three hits and one run while striking out 12 against just two walks in the victory. She followed that performance with a career-high 17 strikeouts in a 10-3 win over Clayton Monday. She also went 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI against the Clippers.

Contreras now has 222 career strikeouts as a pitcher. She’s hitting .407 at the plate this season.
