Three athletes from Middle Township High School produced winning performances at the Cape-Atlantic League track and field championships Saturday morning at Buena Regional High School.
Jamar Mack won the 800-meter run and John Wright picked up a gold medal in the discus in boys competition, while Alli Nagle emerged as the javelin champion in girls competition.
Mack posted a time of 2 minutes, 0.19 seconds to take first in the 800. The junior beat second-place Noah Heritage of Egg Harbor Township by a little more than a second. Heritage ran in 2:01.28.

Wright was far and away the winner in the discus throw. The junior tossed 152 feet, 11 inches with his best throw to beat the field by more than 21 feet. Bridgeton’s Jayden Barnett was second in 131-8.

JOHN WRIGHT
On the girls side, Nagle, a junior, won the javelin with a best toss of 112-4 to beat second-place Cecilia Fendstein of Egg Harbor Township. Feldstein tossed 105-10.
Nagle was also fourth in the shot put competition.

ALLI NAGLE
Also of note, Middle Township senior Olivia Orton placed second in the 3200 with a time of 12:33.92. Vineland’s Olivia Masucci won the event in 12:28.98.
Picking up third-place finishes at the CAL meet were Wildwood Catholic senior Angelina Richards in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:08.00 and Middle Township senior Haylie Rowlands in the high school at a height of 4-8.
