WILDWOOD – The Cape May Tech boys soccer team had an upset on its mind Monday evening.
Rayne Cileone opened the scoring for the Hawks in a contest against rival Wildwood played at Kaitlin M. Anzelone Memorial Field.
Wildwood, however, leveled the score through a goal by Gavin Burns before the interval and went on to dominate the second half.
A second tally by Burns and two goals from Kelan Miller – both from long distance – allowed the Warriors to pull away for a 4-1 victory on their Senior Night.
R.J. Blanda provided the assist for Wildwood’s opening goal, alertly heading teammate Tyler Brown’s corner kick into the path of Burns, who tucked his shot under the crossbar.
Miller’s second-half goals were assisted by Burke Fitzsimons and Yovani Barrios-Morales. One of the goals came from 30 yards out, the other from 20 yards away.
Wildwood improved to 9-4-1 with the victory, while Cape May Tech fell to 2-13 with the loss.
