Catching up with former area high school athletes now competing at the college level:
Brett Nabb (sophomore-Eastern football-MTHS) completed 4-of-10 passes for 29 yards and also ran 10 times for 65 yards and his team’s lone touchdown in a 42-10 loss to Widener last weekend. Nabb has seen action in all nine games so far for Eastern (2-7), and is second on the team in rushing yards with 281 on 64 carries while also completing 41-of-80 passing attempts for 483 yards and five touchdowns against four interceptions. Eastern is set to close its season Saturday at Stevenson University (Md.). …
Miguel Valencia (freshman-Montclair State men’s soccer-LCMR) is part of the Red Hawk team that topped Rowan, 4-2, in the New Jersey Athletic Conference title game last weekend. Valencia, a midfielder, did not play in the title game but has appeared in 12 of the team’s 20 contests so far. Montclair State (17-2-1), which is ranked fifth nationally in Division III by United Soccer Coaches, next plays Saturday at home against Elmira College in the NCAA Division III Tournament. …
Steve Berrodin (freshman-DeSales men’s soccer-MTHS) finished his debut college season with three goals and an assist. He played in all 17 games, with 10 starts, for the Bulldogs (5-7-5) this fall. DeSales’ season came to a close with a 4-2 loss to Lebanon Valley College in the opening round of the Mid Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom Tournament. …

Delaney Brown (sophomore-Immaculata tennis-LCMR) finished the fall portion of the Mighty Macs’ schedule at 2-2 in singles matches and 2-2 in doubles matches. The team is set to resume competing in March. …
Kaydence Oakley (freshman-Kean women’s soccer-WHS) finished tied for second on the team in goals with three and also distributed two assists for the Cougars this fall. She played in all 17 games, with 10 starts, for Kean (4-10-3) this season. …
Ciara DiMauro (freshman-Clarion women’s soccer-MTHS) assisted on the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Pitt-Johnstown in the Golden Eagles’ season finale last week. She finished her debut season with a team-best four goals after seeing action in 17 of 18 games, with 14 starts. Clarion, a member of the Division II Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, finished the 2023 season at 4-10-4. …
Erin Connelly (senior-Salisbury women’s cross country-WCA) placed 37th out of 47 finishers in 25:50.1 at the 6K race at the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championships in late October, helping the Sea Gulls place third in team scoring. Salisbury is next in action Saturday at the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships at Lock Haven University (Pa.). …
Christina Adams (junior-Florida National University cross country-LCMR) has qualified for the NAIA National Championships after placing sixth out of 49 finishers in the 6K race in a school-record time of 24:08.9 at the Continental Athletic Conference Championship meet in Lawrence, Kan., last Friday. NAIA Nationals are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 17, in Vancouver, Wash. …
Brynn Bock (junior-Alvernia soccer-MTHS) made four saves in goal to backstop the Golden Wolves to a 2-2 draw with Widener in their season finale last week. Bock played in all 18 games, with 17 starts, for Alvernia (2-13-3) this fall. …
Jahlil White posted a double-double in Temple's season-opening win Monday.
Jahlil White (junior-Temple basketball-WCA) recorded a double-double in posting 15 points, a game-high 14 rebounds and two blocked shots in a season-opening 85-65 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore. The Owls are next in action Friday at Navy. …
Jada Elston (freshman-Fairleigh Dickinson basketball-MTHS) recorded one rebound in her team’s 102-46 loss against Caitlin Clark and national finalist Iowa in FDU’s season opener on Monday. FDU next plays at Army on Sunday. …
Collin Hassay (junior-Immaculata soccer-LCMR) and Reed Lindsay (junior-Immaculata soccer-OCHS-North Cape May resident) were each contributors for the Mighty Macs this fall. Hassay recorded one goal while seeing action in 14 games (nine starts), while Lindsay posted a goal and two assists in 15 games (13 starts). Immaculata finished the 2023 season at 4-7-6 overall after a 2-0 loss to Marymount in the quarterfinal round of the Atlantic East Tournament. …
Eddie Proud was named AEC Tournament MVP.
Eddie Proud (fifth-year senior-Neumann soccer-MTHS) scored the lone goal on a first-half penalty kick to direct the Knights to a 1-0 victory over Cabrini in the Atlantic East Conference championship game over the weekend. Earlier in the tournament, Proud scored a goal and provided the assist on the game winner in extra time as Neumann slipped past Marymount (Va.), 2-1, in the AEC semifinal round. Proud was named MVP of the tournament for his efforts. Proud has posted two goals and five assists while seeing action in 14 games (13 starts) for Neumann (9-4-3) this fall. The Knights are next scheduled to play Mary Washington on Saturday at St. Mary’s College (Md.) in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. …
Cameron Odom (sophomore-Central Penn men’s soccer-MTHS) played in 15 of a possible 16 games (12 starts) as a defender for the Knights. He scored one goal. Central Penn finished the 2023 season at 12-4-1 after losing, 4-2, to Manor College in the Eastern States Athletic Conference title game. …
Caroline Gallagher (senior-Cabrini field hockey-MTHS) was recently named the Atlantic East Conference Field Hockey Athlete of the Week after recording four goals and five assists over a two-game span for the Cavaliers. During that span, Gallagher broke Cabrini’s single-season and all-time assists records. The Cavaliers fell, 1-0, to St. Mary’s (Md.) in the AEC semifinals to finish their season at 9-9. Gallagher finished the season with 22 goals and 17 assists, both tops on the team. …

Gabby Turco (junior-LaSalle basketball-WCA) shot 4 for 7 from the floor in scoring eight points to go with six rebounds in a starting role to help the Explorers win their opener Monday at Coppin State, 73-68. Turco played two seasons at Division II St. Anselm before transferring to Division I LaSalle over the summer. …
Mia Rafter (senior-Rosemont women’s soccer-MTHS) played in 14 games, with 11 starts, and recorded one goal and one assist for the Ravens this season. Rosemont lost in penalty kicks to Cedar Crest College in the first round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference Tournament after a scoreless draw to finish the season at 6-9-3. The team finished the regular season by winning six and drawing three of their final 10 games after an 0-7 start. …
Sean Connelly (junior-Ursinus football-LCMR), a linebacker, has seen action in six games for the Bears (6-3), who posted a 48-35 win over Gettysburg last weekend. Ursinus finishes the regular season Saturday at home against Dickinson College. …
Dave Giulian (sophomore-TCNJ football-MTHS) has seen action at linebacker in all nine games for the Lions. He has recorded 26 tackles and has been credited with one pass breakup. The College of New Jersey, which posted a 31-14 win over William Paterson last weekend, finishes the regular season Friday at home against Christopher Newport. …

Dakota Ludman (junior-Stockton field hockey-MTHS) was one of eight players to start all 20 games for the Ospreys this season. Stockton finished at 15-5 after a 6-0 loss to Rowan in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament. …
Ronni Johnson (senior-Neumann field hockey-MTHS), a defender and midfielder, started 18 of a possible 19 games for the Knights this fall. Neumann finished the season at 5-14 after losing 6-0 to Cabrini in the first round of the Atlantic East Conference Tournament. …
Lexi Frank (junior-Franklin Pierce field hockey-MTHS), a defender, was one of five players to start all 17 games for the Division II Ravens this fall. She recorded five assists. Franklin Pierce finished the season at 6-11. …
