Wildwood Catholic High School graduate Jahlil White of the Temple University men’s basketball team has been honored by both the Big 5 and the American Athletic Conference after his strong performances in the Owls’ first two games of the season.
White, a 6-7 junior guard, has been named the Big 5 Player of the Week and was selected to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll after posting a pair of double-doubles to help Temple to its first 2-0 start in four seasons.
He delivered 15 points, 14 rebounds and two blocked shots in an 85-65 victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Nov. 6 before posting 21 points, 10 rebounds and three assists in a 75-68 win over Navy on Friday.

White is in his third season at Temple. As a sophomore last season, he averaged 5.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
