Catching up with former high school athletes from the area competing at the college level:

Josh Wright (junior-Rowan basketball-CMT) played in 28 of a possible 29 games, with one start, and averaged 6.3 points and 1.3 rebounds for the Profs. He shot 76 percent from the foul line and made 18 three-pointers. Wright was part of a Rowan team that finished 21-8 overall and won a pair of games in the NCAA Division III Tournament before falling to No.1-ranked Hampden-Sydney in the Sweet 16. …

Martin Anguelov (junior-Stockton basketball-WCA) and Diante Miles (sophomore-Stockton basketball-WHS) will each look to bounce back from separate injuries that ended their respective seasons for the Ospreys. Anguelov started the team’s first 19 games of the season before his injury and averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 78.1 percent on free throws. He finished tied for second on the team in three-point field goals with 41 despite missing the final nine games of the season. Miles played in eight games off the bench before suffering his injury and averaged 8.1 points and 1.0 steals. Stockton finished the season at 17-11 after reaching the New Jersey Athletic Conference title game and qualifying for the NCAA Division III Tournament. …

IMENE FATHI

Imene Fathi (sophomore-Stockton basketball-WHS) played in all 26 games, with 23 starts, for the Ospreys during the recently completed season and led the team in scoring at 11.2 points per game and in three-point field goals with 40. She shot 74.4 percent from the foul line and also contributed 3.0 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. Stockton finished 15-11 overall. ...

Gabby Turco (junior-LaSalle basketball-WCA) played in 28 of a possible 29 games, with eight starts, and averaged 5.6 points and 2.9 rebounds per game for the Explorers. She led the team in free-throw shooting percentage at .875. LaSalle finished 8-21 overall. Turco, who played two previous seasons at Division II St. Anselm prior to attending LaSalle, is set to play elsewhere next season as a senior after entering into the transfer portal earlier this week. …

Marianna Papazoglou (junior-Penn basketball-WCA) played in 19 of a possible 28 games for the Quakers this season. She averaged 1.2 points and 0.6 rebounds while shooting 37.5 percent on three-point attempts. Penn finished the season at 15-13 overall. …

Shane Whitney (junior-Drexel wrestling-LCMR) went 7-10 with three wins by fall at heavyweight for the Dragons during the recently completed season. Drexel finished 7-9 overall in dual matches. …

KIMMY CASIELLO

Kimmy Casiello (sophomore-Widener basketball-WCA) and Mia Elisano (freshman-Widener basketball-MTHS) were each part of a Pride team that won the MAC Commonwealth Tournament championship and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. Casiello played in all 29 games, with five starts, and averaged 3.3 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. She shot 74 percent from the foul line and finished tied for fourth on the team in three-point field goals with 20. Elisano saw action in nine games and scored five points to go with nine rebounds. Widener finished the season at 24-5 overall. The 24 victories matched the most in a season under 21st-year head coach Alisa Kintner. …

Brock Zurawski (freshman-Rider wrestling-LCMR) went 1-4 at 184 pounds in his debut college season at the Division I level. Rider went 8-7 overall in dual matches and placed second at the Mid-American Conference Championships. …

CARLY MURPHY

Carly Murphy (freshman-Swarthmore basketball-WCA) saw action in all 26 games, with five starts, and averaged 6.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game for the Garnet. She finished second on the team in three-point field goals with 12 and led the team in free-throw shooting percentage at .875 (28 for 32). …

Chase McCray (freshman-Misericordia swimming-MTHS) was part of the sixth-place 400 freestyle relay team at the MAC Championship meet last month. He also placed 22nd in the 100 freestyle and 24th in the 200 freestyle. Misericordia finished fifth out of 12 teams at the meet. …

LINDSAY HOLDEN

Lindsay Holden (sophomore-Neumann basketball-LCMR) averaged 2.9 points and 1.8 assists per game while seeing action in all 28 games, with eight starts, for the Knights. Neumann finished 18-10 overall. …

Mike Cronin (freshman-Penn State Abington-LCMR) saw action in 14 games and posted seven points and three rebounds for the Nittany Lions, who finished 8-17 overall. …

Justin Harper (freshman-Georgian Court basketball-WCA) played in 17 games, with eight starts, during his debut college season. He averaged 7.5 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. Georgian Court finished the season 2-25 overall. …

KATE HERLIHY

Kate Herlihy (junior-Rowan basketball-MTHS) started all 26 games and led the Profs in scoring this season at 13.5 points per game while also contributing 4.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game. She finished second on the team in three-point field goals with 42. Herlihy was named an Honorable Mention selection on the New Jersey Athletic Conference All-Conference Team. Rowan finished the season at 12-14 overall. …

Brianna Robinson (sophomore-Stockton lacrosse-MTHS) has played in seven of a possible eight games, with three starts, and has tallied 10 goals and three assists so far this season. Stockton entered Tuesday’s game with Misericordia at 8-0. Robinson was also a member of Stockton’s women’s basketball team over the winter. She played in 25 games, with eight starts, and averaged 2.8 points and 1.8 rebounds per game. …

CAROLINE GALLAGHER

Caroline Callagher (senior-Cabrini lacrosse-MTHS) was recently named the Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the Week for women’s lacrosse after leading the team in caused turnovers with 10 and posting a total of six goals combined in victories over Moravian and Ursinus. Gallagher has started all five of the team’s games so far and has posted seven goals. She leads the team in caused turnovers with 18 and is second on the team in both ground balls with 13 and draw controls with 13. Gallagher has been a two-sport standout at Cabrini over the course of her career. She tallied 59 goals and 38 assists over her field hockey career, finishing as the program’s all-time assists leader. …

Carina Raymond (graduate student-Jefferson lacrosse-LCMR) is tied for second on the team with four goals through four games for the Rams. She scored twice in the team’s most recent game, a 23-2 win over Felician. Jefferson is 1-3 entering Wednesday’s game against Georgian Court. …

EMILY CIMINO

Emily Cimino (graduate student-Lehigh softball-WCHS) is batting .319 with seven doubles, two home runs, 10 RBI and 13 runs scored for the Mountain Hawks. She went 3 for 5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in a recent win over Cornell. Lehigh is 10-13 overall entering Wednesday’s game at Monmouth. …

Jenna O’Neill (sophomore-Rowan lacrosse-LCMR) has started all seven games so far for the Profs. The defender has recorded seven ground balls and four caused turnovers. Rowan is 3-4 overall entering Thursday’s home game against Scranton. …

KIRA SIDES

Kira Sides (senior-The College of New Jersey lacrosse-MTHS) is tied for the team lead with seven assists and is third on the team with 10 goals for the Lions. She also leads the team in turnovers caused with 11 and is also second on the team in both ground balls with 10 and draw controls with 16. TCNJ (5-0) is currently ranked 10th nationally in Division III entering Thursday’s home game against top-ranked Middlebury College. …

Maggie Boyle (sophomore-Indiana University of Pennsylvania lacrosse) is currently third on the team with seven goals through four games. The attacker is also tied for third on the team with six ground balls. IUP is 1-3 overall entering Wednesday’s game with Gannon. …

JULIA GIBSON

Julia Gibson (sophomore-Palm Beach Atlantic lacrosse-LCMR) has recorded a goal and seven assists through five games for the Sailfish, who are 3-5 overall entering Saturday’s game at Tampa. …

Maddie Schiffbauer (sophomore-Queens University lacrosse-LCMR) has seen action in five of a possible nine games as a midfielder. The Division I Royals are 5-4 overall entering Wednesday’s game at Wofford. …

MATTHEW FRAME

Matthew Frame (sophomore-Immaculata lacrosse-MTHS) has scored three goals and passed one assist in six games played so far for the Mighty Macs. Immaculata takes a record of 4-3 into Wednesday’s game against Delaware Valley University. …

Matt Gibson (senior-Stockton lacrosse-LCMR) has started all seven games thus far for the Ospreys as a defender. He has registered one assist, is second on the team with nine caused turnovers and has posted 10 ground balls. Stockton takes a record of 6-1 into Wednesday’s game against Swarthmore. …

MADDIE BARBER

Maddie Barber (senior-Temple lacrosse-MTHS), a defender, has started all nine games and is the Owls’ leader in ground balls with 28 and caused turnovers with 18. She’s second on the team in draw controls with 29 and has also contributed one goal and two assists. Temple (6-3 overall) is next in action Saturday at East Carolina. …

Carson Denham (graduate student-Ohio University baseball-CMTHS) has appeared in three games as a pitcher for the Division I Bobcats. He has allowed five runs in 2.1 innings pitched with one strikeout. Denham transferred to Ohio after an excellent career at Division III Arcadia. He is believed to be the first Cape May Tech graduate to compete at the Division I level in any sport. Ohio (7-10 overall) was scheduled to play Tuesday at Northern Kentucky. …

NICO CASTELLANO

Nico Castellano (senior-Drew lacrosse-LCMR) has seen action in eight games and has recorded three ground balls and one draw control for the Rangers, who are 5-3 entering Saturday’s game at Susquehanna. …

Marissa Giancola (graduate student-Kutztown lacrosse-LCMR) has seen action in one game so far and posted one ground ball and one caused turnover. Kutztown is 3-1 entering Wednesday’s game with Shippensburg. …

JULIANNA MCCLAIN

Julianna McClain (junior-Ramapo lacrosse-LCMR), a defender, has started all five games so far for the Roadrunners. She leads the team with 13 ground balls and is third on the team in caused turnovers with eight. McClain has also chipped in one goal. Ramapo was 2-3 entering Tuesday’s game with Mount St. Vincent. …

Maddyn McAnaney (freshman-Salisbury lacrosse-MTHS) has seen action in two games so far for the Seagulls. Salisbury takes a record of 6-2 into Saturday’s game with Chicago in Washington, D.C. …

ALEX HUNT

Alex Hunt (sophomore-Iona College baseball-Wildwood Crest resident) has posted a 2.70 earned run average in 6.2 innings pitched over six appearances. He has struck out eight batters and opponents are batting just .208 against him. Hunt played high school baseball at St. Augustine Prep. Iona took a record of 4-13 into Tuesday’s game at Wagner. …

Eliza Billingham (freshman-Limestone University lacrosse-MTHS) has seen action in three games so far. Limestone, a Division II school in South Carolina, is unbeaten through nine games and next plays Saturday at Newberry. ...

GIACOMO ANTONICELLO

Giacomo Antonicello (senior-Rutgers-Camden baseball-WCHS) has started in 13 of a possible 15 games and is batting .390 with three doubles, a triple, 11 runs scored and 11 RBI. He recently went 5 for 5 with a double, five runs scored and two RBI in a 17-5 win over Oneonta in Auburndale, Fla. last week. Rutgers-Camden takes a record of 11-4 into Sunday’s doubleheader at Ursinus.
