CAPE MAY POINT – Jenna Parker did it again.
The Harvey Cedars lifeguard and experienced triathlete won the Cape May Point Women’s Lifeguard Challenge race Wednesday for a record sixth time in the 16th annual competition.

Parker, 40, who finished second in last year’s event, completed the race in 25 minutes, 27 seconds. The competition consists of a 1.3-mile soft-sand run, one-mile ocean paddle and half-mile ocean swim.
Parker also led Harvey Cedars to the team championship, joining forces with Maggie Shaw, who placed 12th overall in 30:06.
Sea Girt’s Ivy Slavinsky placed second in 25:30 and Katie Zgorski of Ocean City, Md., was third in 25:45. Lexi Santer of Ocean City, N.J., last year’s champion, finished fourth in 27:03 and Wildwood Crest’s Maddie Priest rounded out the top five in 28:21.
Cape May A placed second in team scoring, thanks to a sixth-place finish by Emma DeMario in 28:52 and an eighth-place effort by Madi Bickford in 29:02.
This year’s race featured a record 54 competitors representing a total of 18 beach patrols, also a Cape May Point Women’s Lifeguard Challenge record.
