The Wildwood Catholic Academy swimming team has won a championship for the second straight season.
The Crusaders clinched the Cape-Atlantic United Conference title for the second year in a row behind Friday’s 121-48 victory over Holy Spirit. The win allowed Wildwood Catholic to finish its CAL United schedule unbeaten at 6-0.
Teddy Woolery, Lauren Crouthamel and Kona Wong were each four-event winners for Wildwood Catholic. Woolery won the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle races, Crouthamel was first in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle events and Wong won the 200 individual medley and the 100 breaststroke. The trio teamed with L.J. Belasco to win the 400 freestyle relay. Woolery also won the 200 medley relay with Wong, Belasco and Kory Lafferty and Crouthamel joined Lafferty, Cade Vogdes and Kaitlyn Nordberg to take top honors in the 200 freestyle relay.
Other individual winners for Wildwood Catholic included L.J. Belasco (100 butterfly) and Earl Belasco (100 backstroke).
In addition to Holy Spirit, Wildwood Catholic defeated Lower Cape May, Cape May Tech, Millville, Buena and Pleasantville to place first in the CAL United Conference.
Wildwood Catholic finishes out its dual meet season with a meet at Oakcrest on Wednesday.
