Catching up with former area high school athletes now competing at the college level:
Martin Anguelov (senior-Richard Stockton basketball-WCA) was one of the top guards in the New Jersey Athletic Conference before having his season cut short due to a knee injury. He averaged 18.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in 12 games before being injured. …
Carly Murphy (sophomore-Swarthmore basketball-WCA) played in 22 games, with five starts, for the Garnet this winter. She averaged 5.5 points and 2.7 rebounds. Swarthmore finished the season at 8-17 overall. …
Justin Harper (sophomore-Georgian Court basketball-WCA) averaged 10.3 points before being injured midway through the season. He also posted 3.4 rebounds per game. Harper played in 15 games, with eight starts. Georgian Court went 6-21 overall. …
KAITLYN CROUTHAMEL
Kaitlyn Crouthamel (sophomore-Rowan swimming-LCMR) posted a season-best time of 17:28.47 in taking first place in the 1650 freestyle at the New Jersey Athletic Conference Championships in February. She helped Rowan take third place in team scoring at the event.
Lindsay Holden (junior-Neumann basketball-LCMR) suffered an injury early in the season but bounced back to play in 19 games, with 17 starts, for the Knights. She averaged 6.3 points, a team-best 4.5 assists and 2.3 rebounds this season. Teammate Hannah Cappelletti (freshman-Neumann basketball-MTHS) saw action in 13 games off the bench this season and scored five points. Neumann finished at 16-10 overall and had its season ended with a loss to Immaculata in the Atlantic East Conference title game. …
Brock Zurawski (sophomore-Rider wrestling-LCMR) has been seeded 26th out of 33 wrestlers in the 197-pound weight class at the NCAA Division I Championships scheduled to begin Thursday in Philadelphia. Zurawski qualified for the NCAA Championships by winning his weight class at the Mid-American Conference Championships earlier this month. …
IMENE FATHI
Imene Fathi (junior-Stockton basketball-WHS) was named a New Jersey Athletic Conference honorable mention selection after averaging 9.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and a team-best 4.1 assists for the Ospreys, who finished 11-14. Fathi was second in the NJAC in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.3 and was fifth in minutes played at 31.8. She shot 71.7 percent from the foul line. She led Stockton in steals with 43. Teammate Brianna Robinson (graduate student-Stockton basketball and lacrosse-MTHS) saw action in 22 games, with 13 starts, and averaged 3.1 points and 2.1 rebounds. Robinson is now in the middle of lacrosse season and has scored two goals while seeing action in six of seven games, with five starts. Stockton women’s lacrosse enters this week at 6-1 overall. …
Taj Thweatt (redshirt junior-Fairmont State basketball-WCA) played in 26 games, with 25 starts, for the Falcons, who lost in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament after winning the Mountain East Conference Tournament. He averaged 11.8 points and 6.2 rebounds while leading the team with 18 blocked shots. Thweatt missed the last two games of the season after suffering an injury. Fairmont State finished at 27-5 overall. …
Kaitlyn McGuigan (freshman-Immaculata basketball-LCMR) saw action in seven games off the bench and contributed two points, seven rebounds and three assists. Immaculata won the Atlantic East Conference Tournament and finished at 22-4 overall after losing in the opening round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. …
Kimmy Casiello (junior-Widener basketball-WCA) played in 24 games, with 17 starts, for the Pride this winter. She averaged 4.5 points, 3.5 assists and 2.2 rebounds. Teammate Mia Elisano (sophomore-Widener basketball-MTHS) played in 16 games off the bench and contributed 0.9 points and 1.0 rebounds per game. Widener finished 18-9 overall after losing to Messiah in the MAC Commonwealth Tournament championship game. …

Shane Whitney (redshirt junior-Drexel wrestling-LCMR) finished the season at 12-14 while wrestling at heavyweight. He led the Dragons with seven wins by fall. …
Gabby Turco (senior-Rider basketball-WCA) led the Broncs in scoring this season at 13.9 points per game. She also averaged 3.5 rebounds and was tied for second on the team in assists with 50. Turco posted 12 points and four rebounds in the team’s final game of the season, a 67-65 loss at Niagara. Rider finished 7-22 overall. …
Destiny Wallace (freshman-Georgian Court basketball-WCA) saw action in 24 of a possible 28 games, with seven starts. She averaged 2.8 points and 1.0 rebounds. Georgian Court finished 6-22 overall. …
Pat Bean (freshman-Gwynedd Mercy basketball-WCA) saw action in 11 games for the Griffins and averaged 1.4 points per game. Gwynedd Mercy finished 21-5 overall after losing in the Atlantic East Conference Tournament semifinal at Marymount. …
Junior Hans (freshman-Centenary-WHS) played in seven of a possible 26 games. He scored three points. Centenary finished 11-15 overall. …
JAHLIL WHITE
Jahlil White (redshirt senior/graduate student-LaSalle basketball-WCA) saw action in 29 games, with 28 starts, for the Explorers. He averaged 9.7 points and 6.2 rebounds and was second on the team in both steals with 44 and blocked shots with 21. White missed both of the team’s games in the Atlantic 10 Tournament due to injury. LaSalle finished at 14-19 overall. …
Jada Elston (sophomore-Fairleigh Dickinson basketball-MTHS) is redshirting this winter for the Knights, which beat Stone Hill, 66-49, in the Northeast Conference Tournament championship game on Sunday. FDU, coached by former Ocean City High School player and coach Stephanie Gaitley, won the NEC Tournament for the first time since 1992. The Knights (29-3), who’ve won 22 straight games, will next play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
Kaci Mikulski (freshman-Jefferson basketball-WCA) began the season as a redshirt but was pressed into action due to injuries to teammates. She wound up playing in 24 games and averaged 3.0 points while shooting a team-best 45.9 percent on three-point tries (17 for 37). She scored a season-best 20 points in a win over Wilmington in mid January. Jefferson, which lost to Holy Family in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, finished at 24-8 after falling 70-48 to Daemen in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament on March 14. …
Kyelle Ruiz (freshman-Rowan Cumberland basketball-WCA) played in 22 games, with nine starts, and averaged 2.1 points and 4.0 rebounds. Rowan Cumberland went 0-26 this season. …

Giacomo Antonicello (senior-Rutgers-Camden baseball-WCHS) has seen action in five games so far, with four starts, and is batting .357 with a double and three RBI in 14 at bats. Teammate Mason Blizzard (freshman-Rutgers-Camden baseball-MTHS) has seen action in two games and is 0 for 3 on the season so far, while another teammate, Tanner Oliva (freshman-Rutgers-Camden baseball-CMTHS) has pitched in one inning so far. Rutgers-Camden entered this week at 9-1. …
Madison Palek (freshman-Clarion basketball-MTHS) played in 26 of a possible 29 games, with 11 starts. She averaged 5.0 points and 6.0 rebounds while posting a team-best 40 blocked shots. Division II Clarion finished 14-15 overall. …
Dakota Ludman (senior-Stockton field hockey-MTHS) was recently named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad for the fourth straight year. To qualify, athletes must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher. Ludman started all 19 games for Stockton (10-9) as a senior last fall. …
Chase McCray (sophomore-Misericordia swimming-MTHS) placed 14th in the 100 freestyle, 17th in the 200 freestyle and 18th in the 50 freestyle to help Misericordia to a fourth-place finish out of 11 teams at the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships in mid February. …
Mike Cronin (sophomore-Penn State Abington basketball-LCMR) saw action in 11 games, with one start, for the Lions this winter. He scored six points and grabbed nine rebounds. Penn State Abington finished 3-22 overall. …
Julia Gibson (junior-Stockton lacrosse-LCMR) has scored a team-best 23 goals to go with nine assists and is second on the team in points with 32 through seven games. Gibson transferred to Stockton after first playing at Palm Beach Atlantic. Stockton enters this week at 6-1 overall. …

David Giulian (junior-The College of New Jersey wrestling-MTHS) went 7-5 for the Lions this winter while wrestling at 184 pounds. A two-sport athlete at TCNJ, Giulian was a first team New Jersey Athletic Conference all-star as a linebacker for the football team in the fall. …
Jenna O’Neill (junior-Rowan lacrosse-LCMR) has started all six games so far for the Profs, who went into this week at 6-0. She is third on the team in ground balls with 13 and fourth on the team in turnovers caused with seven. …
Maggie Boyle (sophomore-Indiana University of Pennsylvania lacrosse) has started all six games so far and has posted five goals, tied for fifth on the team. IUP entered this week at 1-5. …
Matthew Frame (sophomore-Immaculata lacrosse-MTHS) has played in five of a possible eight games so far for the Mighty Macs. He has posted one goal and one assist to go with two ground balls. Teammate Danny Brady (freshman-Immaculata lacrosse-MTHS) has seen action in three of a possible eight games so far for the Mighty Macs. He has recorded two ground balls. Immaculata entered this week at 3-5. …
Kristina McClain (junior-Ramapo lacrosse-LCMR) has started all five games so far as a defender for the Roadrunners. She has recorded seven ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Ramapo entered this week at 3-2. …
Alex Hunt (graduate student-Old Dominion baseball-Wildwood Crest resident) is 1-0 with a 5.40 earned run average in five relief appearances so far this season. He has struck out five and walked five in five innings pitched. Hunt, a graduate of St. Augustine Prep, transferred to Old Dominion prior to this scholastic year after first playing at Iona. ODU entered this week at 5-12. …

Hunter Ray (freshman-FDU baseball-LCMR) has played in 16 games, with nine starts, as an outfielder for the Division I Knights. He’s hitting .200 with seven hits in 35 at bats. He has two doubles, two RBI and three stolen bases. FDU entered this week at 2-17. …
Evan Shoffler (freshman-Shippensburg baseball-LCMR) has played in 10 games, with eight starts, so far for the Raiders. He is hitting .387 with 12 hits in 31 at bats. He has three doubles and a triple and has posted eight runs scored and eight RBI. Shoffler enjoyed his best college outing to date on Saturday, going 4 for 6 with two extra-base hits over two games to help the Raiders sweep a doubleheader against Staten Island. Shippensburg went into this week at 13-5. …
Kody Lewis (freshman-Georgian Court baseball-LCMR) has seen action in four games so far, with one start. He is hitting .400 with two hits in five at bats. He has scored one run. Georgian Court entered this week at 1-11.

Delaney Brown (junior-Immaculata tennis-LCMR) and Hailey Elwell (freshman-Immaculata tennis-LCMR) are both key members of the Mighty Macs’ team. They each lost singles matches as Immaculata opened the spring season with a 7-0 defeat to Misericordia last weekend. …
Sabrina Faulkner (junior-Iona lacrosse-LCMR) has seen action in three of a possible six games so far as a midfielder for the Division I Gaels. She has recorded one draw control and one ground ball. Iona entered this week at 1-6. …

She’s tied for fifth on the team in goals scored with five and is second on the in free position shots with seven. She has scooped four ground balls and has won three draw controls. Tessa Hueber (freshman-Chatham lacrosse-LCMR) has started all four games and leads the team in scoring with 12 points, having posted nine goals and three assists. She had three goals in the team’s victory in its latest game, a 21-7 decision over Muskingum. Chatham, a Division III program in Pittsburgh, entered this week at 1-3. …
Brayden Castillo (junior-Delaware Valley wrestling-LCMR) finished his third season in the Aggies’ program with three wins in 16 bouts at 184 pounds. He won all three by fall. ...
Mike Adelizzi (junior-Penn State Abington-MTHS), a pitcher, has made two appearances (one start) so far for the Lions. He’s struck out five while allowing two earned runs over five innings for an earned run average of 1.80. Teammate Ben Harris (junior-Penn State Abington-MTHS), also a pitcher, has made one appearance so far. Penn State Abington entered this week at 6-8.
