Eastern University quarterback Brett Nabb, a MTHS graduate, has rushed for 289 yards and two touchdowns over two games so far this season.

Catching up with former area high school athletes now competing at the college level:

Brett Nabb (senior-Eastern football-MTHS), a quarterback, ran 15 times for 145 yards and a touchdown and completed 2-of-5 passing attempts for 23 yards in a 24-14 victory over Alvernia last weekend. That came one game after he ran 17 times for 144 yards and a touchdown and completed 8-of-17 passes for another 130 yards and another score in a 46-7 win over Anna Maria College. Eastern (2-0 ) next plays Saturday at Lebanon Valley College. …

Steve Berrodin (junior-DeSales soccer-MTHS), a midfielder, has seen action in all six games so far for the Bulldogs. DeSales (3-3) hosts The College of New Jersey Saturday. …

Gracie Repici (freshman-Immaculate women’s soccer-MTHS) has started all four games so far for the Mighty Macs and has contributed a goal and two assists to tie for the team lead in points with four. Immaculata (1-2-1) is next in action Thursday at Widener. …

DAVID GIULIAN

David Giulian (senior-The College of New Jersey football-MTHS), a linebacker, has been named the New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a 17-3 win over Wilkes last weekend. He made seven tackles, including two for losses, defended a pass and also had a key interception in the fourth quarter. Giulian, a team captain, leads the team with 17 tackles through two games. The Lions (2-0) are next in action Sept. 27 at home against Juniata. …

Michael Zarfati (sophomore-Rowan football-MTHS) posted three receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown to help the Profs to a 56-0 victory over Moravian last weekend. His touchdown reception came on a 33-yard pass play. Teammate Maurice Matthews (freshman-Rowan football-MTHS) saw action as a backup defensive lineman in the win over Moravian. Rowan (2-0) next plays Sept. 27 at Lycoming. …

Kiki Soto (junior-Neumann soccer-LCMR) has seen action in one game as a goalkeeper for the Knights. Neumann (2-4-1) is next in action Saturday at home against Lancaster Bible College. …

Kaydence Oakley (junior-Kean women’s soccer-WHS) has started all five games so far for the Cougars and has recorded a goal and an assist. Kean (3-1-1) is next in action Saturday at home against Albright. …

Colin Jastremski (freshman-Gwynedd Mercy soccer-MTHS) has played in all six games off the bench so far as a midfielder for the Griffins, recording one shot. Gwynedd-Mercy (1-5) was scheduled to host FDU-Florham on Wednesday. …

Marianna Papazoglou (graduate student-West Chester basketball-WCA) transferred into the Golden Ram program after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in May. She’s expected to see significant playing time at forward and will be joined on the roster by Macie McCracken (freshman-West Chester basketball-WHS). …

Gia Famiano (sophomore-Wilkes field hockey-MTHS), a defender, has seen action in three of the team’s six games, with one start. She has played a total of 92 minutes. Wilkes (2-4) was scheduled to play at SUNY Oneonta on Wednesday. …

OLIVIA SGRIGNIOLI

Olivia Sgrignioli (sophomore-Penn State Harrisburg-MTHS) has played in all six games so far, with two starts. She has scored goals in back-to-back recent games against St. Vincent and Franklin & Marshall. The Lions were scheduled to host McDaniel College on Wednesday. …

Maddie Gilbert (freshman-Kutztown tennis-LCMR) saw action at first doubles in a 7-0 loss to Scranton earlier this week in the team’s fall opener. She and teammate Isabela de Nadai dropped a 6-4 set. Kutztown is next in action Friday at Clarion. …

Maddie Groetsch (freshman-Eastern field hockey-LCMR), a forward, has seen action in two games so far for the Eagles and has recorded one shot on goal. Eastern (4-1) was scheduled to host Drew University on Wednesday. …

CIARA DIMARUO

Ciara DiMauro (junior-Clarion women’s soccer-MTHS) leads the Golden Eagles with three goals and two assists through three games so far. She netted two goals in a season-opening 5-4 loss to Ursuline earlier this month. Clarion (0-3-1) is next in action Saturday at home against Indiana University of Pennsylvania. …

Keily Sanchez (freshman-Ramapo soccer-MTHS) has started all five games in the midfield so far for the Roadrunners, recording six shots overall and four shots on goal. Ramapo (3-0-1) was scheduled to play at Drew University Wednesday.

Eddie Hirsch (freshman-Eastern soccer-MTHS) has started one game for the Eagles so far. Eastern (1-3-1) is next in action Saturday at home against the University of Pittsburgh Greensburg. …

ARCHIE LAWLER

Archie Lawler (junior-Carnegie Mellon football-LCMR) recorded one tackle in the Tartans 20-0 win at Chicago in the season opener. Carnegie Mellon (1-1) is scheduled to face No. 20 Berry at home on Saturday. …

Devon Bock (junior-Ursinus cross country-MTHS) finished 38th out of 78 finishers at the season-opening Bryn Mawr Invitational. He posted a time of 19:35.60 in the 5K race. …

Reagan Flickinger (freshman-Smith College soccer-WCA), a defender, is one of six Bears players to start all five of the team’s games so far. Smith (0-4-1), located in Northampton, Mass., is next in action Saturday at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Three of the team’s four defeats have been by one goal.
