Mudhen Brewing Company/CapeAtlanticLive.com Female Co-Athletes of the Week: Maria Sakoulas and Ella Leahy, Middle Township

Maria Sakoulas and Ella Leahy of Middle Township High School have been named the Mudhen Brewing Company/CapeAtlanticLive.com Female Co-Athletes of the Week.

Both athletes are members of the school's girls tennis team. They each recently recorded the 50th victory of their respective careers.

Sakoulas, a senior who plays first singles, reached the milestone in last Friday’s 3-2 upset victory over Ocean City, Sakoulas recording a 6-4, 6-3 victory.

Leahy, a junior who plays second singles, attained her 50th career victory by securing her team’s lone point in a 4-1 loss to Vineland Monday with a 7-5, 6-4 decision.

Sakoulas and Leahy have helped Middle to a solid 8-5 start to the season against a very competitive Cape-Atlantic American Conference schedule. The team is next in action at home on Wednesday against Egg Harbor Township.
