WILDWOOD – A boys game that featured plenty of drama highlighted a doubleheader sweep by the soccer teams from Wildwood over Cape May Tech Tuesday.

Playing in windy, rainy conditions, Wildwood won the boys game, 3-2, by scoring three times in the first 13 minutes of the second half after falling behind by two goals at intermission.

Michael Blanda and Angel DeJesus stunned the Hawks by scoring within the first six minutes of the half to level the game as the Warriors shifted to more of a quick-passing style after the interval. Wildwood then got the winner with 27 minutes remaining when DeJesus sent a corner kick into a dangerous area that resulted in an own goal.

Max Beall scored twice in the opening half to stake Cape May Tech (3-14-1) to a 2-0 lead. His first tally came with the game about 10 minutes old and his second came off a beautiful header off a corner kick five minutes ahead of halftime.

Angel Gonzalez stopped six shots in goal for Wildwood (8-9).

In the girls game that opened the doubleheader, the return of freshman sensation Aubrey Bradway gave the Lady Warriors a boost as they rolled to a 6-1 win over the Lady Hawks.

Bradway, who had scored 11 goals in her first four high school games before a leg injury forced her to miss six weeks of play, didn’t need to be much of a factor in terms of scoring against Cape May Tech, however, as other Wildwood players also provided offensive punch. But Bradway’s return certainly made an impact in how Wildwood controlled the middle third of the field.

Addison Troiano, the team’s starting goalkeeper but who became a field player in the second half, scored twice and Ellasyn Morey, Sarai Salas-Lopez and Julia Ennis each added a goal to go with Bradway’s goal and assist for the Lady Warriors (6-9-2). Mollie Farrell added two assists, the second of which was a beautiful cutback touch with her left foot that set up one of Troiano’s goals.

Melissa Rivello scored a second-half goal for Cape May Tech (2-13-1).
