CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Mainland Regional HIgh School softball team broke open a close game late and pulled away for a 12-6 victory over Middle Township Monday afternoon.

The Mustangs, who posted a 15-hit attack, scored five times in the sixth and twice in the seventh to turn a 5-3 lead into an eventual 12-6 victory.

Middle (8-5) received two hits apiece from Grace Hall, Peyton DeVicchis and Charlotte Romberger. Dakota Laughlin added an RBI triple.

Middle is next scheduled for action Wednesday at home against Our Lady of Mercy Academy.
