CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – Natalie Stoltz enjoyed the highest-scoring game of her high school career, reached a significant milestone and helped the Middle Township High School girls lacrosse team to a critical victory Wednesday afternoon.
Stoltz, a senior attacker, matched her career high with eight goals and added an assist to set her career high for points in a game with nine to help Middle to an 18-9 win over St. Joseph in a Cape-Atlantic National Conference title.
Along the way, Stoltz netted her 100th career goal midway through the third quarter. She also posted a game-high 12 draw controls.
The win allowed Middle (6-5 overall, 5-0 CAL National) to remain unbeaten and in first place in conference play while handing the first conference loss of the season to the Wildcats (6-7, 4-1).
Gabby Oliver added four goals and an assist for Middle. Izzy Miller had three goals and an assist, Layla Hagan scored twice and Casey Day chipped in a goal in the win.
Also of note for Middle, Olivia Famiano collected eight ground balls and goalkeeper Lea Kern stopped 12 of 21 shot attempts.
Middle, which has won four of its last five games overall, is the lone unbeaten team remaining in conference play. The Lady Panthers can clinch the conference title with a victory over Oakcrest on Tuesday.
Prior to the game with the Falcons, Middle will face local rival Lower Cape May on Friday.
