Ella Biersbach of Lower Cape May Regional High School is the latest MudHen Brewing Company/CapeAtlanticLive.com Female Athlete of the Week.

A senior on the track and field team, Biersbach enjoyed a terrific outing at the South Jersey Group II championship meet last weekend. She qualified for the state championship meet later this month by placing among the top six in four different events. Biersbach was second in the 200-meter race, third in the 100-meter dash and third in the long jump as an individual and also teamed with Jasmine Black, Jenna Hill and Abby Verity for a sixth-place finish in the 4x100 relay. Her time of 25.89 seconds in the 200 is a new school record.

Earlier this month, Biersbach was the champion in the long jump and placed second in both the 100 and 200 at the Cape May County championship meet.
