McAnaney, a defender, has seen action in 18 of the team’s 20 games so far, with two starts. She has posted eight ground balls and eight caused turnovers.
Salisbury (20-0), ranked second in Division III by USA Lacrosse Magazine, is set to play No. 3 Wesleyan (Conn.) in the national semifinal Friday afternoon on the campus of Rochester Institute of Technology in New York. The winner will face Middlebury or Tufts in the national title game on Sunday, also at RIT.
Salisbury was the regular-season and postseason tournament champion of the Coast-2-Coast Conference, defeating Christopher Newport in the C2C Tournament title game. The Sea Gulls went to victories over Union College and York College in the early rounds of the NCAA Tournament before again defeating Christopher Newport, 17-9, in a Regional Final last Sunday.
McAnaney was a standout midfielder as a high school player at Middle Township. She scored 110 career goals, including 55 as a senior.
