CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Wildwood Catholic Academy boys soccer team made sure to turn a close game in its favor Thursday afternoon.

Playing in damp, windy conditions at rival Cape May Tech, the Crusaders scored twice in the final 20 minutes to finish with a comfortable 3-0 victory.

Teddy Woollery, a transfer from Cape May Tech, extended Wildwood Catholic’s 1-0 halftime lead when he scored on a shot inside the left post.

A few minutes later, Charlie Dunner chipped a high shot just below the crossbar and into the left corner of goal.

Those goals came after Nick Antonicello gave the Crusaders a 1-0 lead in the first half by volleying a rebound into the net.

Wildwood Catholic’s Alex Daniel recorded the shutout in goal.

Wildwood Catholic evened its record at 4-4 with the victory. It’s a solid start for the Crusaders, who won just five games combined over the past three seasons.

Cape May Tech fell to 1-7.
