It’s been an extremely enjoyable season for the Lower Cape May Regional High School field hockey team.

It got even more special on Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers posted a 5-0 road victory at Holy Spirit to win their ninth straight game and clinch at least a share of the Cape-Atlantic National Conference championship.

Greta Shepanski posted three goals and an assist to pace the Lower Cape May offense in the victory. Chloe Samaniego and Madi Sharp each added goals, Marla Groestch recorded two assists and Ava Samaniego and Hailey Serra each chipped in an assist apiece.

Taylor Stiteler made three saves to record her fourth straight shutout and sixth overall for the season.

Lower (10-2 overall, 8-2 CAL National) awaits the result of Wednesday’s game between Egg Harbor Township and Vineland. A win by EHT would create a tie atop the conference between Lower and the Eagles. A win by Vineland would give Lower Cape May the outright championship.
