CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE – The Middle Township High School field hockey team keeps on rolling.
The Lady Panthers had little trouble winning their fifth game in a row Tuesday, blanking Absegami, 7-0.
Middle dominated from the start, forcing multiple penalty corners despite scoring just once in the opening quarter. But the team added two more in the second period before netting three in the third to pull away.
Julia Clarke scored three times to lead the offense for Middle. Anyiah Torres chipped in two goals and Allie Brady and Elle Curvan each chipped in one. Gwen Boal dished two assists, with Brady, Abbie Teefy and Aubrey McGarrity each adding one.
Zoe Hagan recorded the shutout in goal, her seventh in the team’s nine games.
Middle has conceded only seven goals for the season to date, with six of those coming in the team’s lone loss, a 6-0 result at Bishop Eustace on Sept. 16. Hagan and Middle have shut out each of their last five opponents.
Offensively, the Lady Panthers have been led by Brady, who has scored a team-high 15 goals. Boal has scored nine and Clarke and Hannah Cappelletti have each chipped in six. Teefy has scored five to go with a team-best seven assists.
Middle is next in action Thursday at home against Holy Spirit.
